In typical Apple fashion they’ve just released another (PRODUCT)RED version of one of their illustrious products. This time around it’s the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus that get the special attention.
The phone does not have any hardware changes when compared to the original iPhone 8 and 8 Plus release about six months ago. The back cover is a nice bright red and the face and front edges are straight black. A nice change over the iPhone 7 version of the (PRODUCT)RED phone which had white edges giving it a bit of an odd look.
Prices for the red iPhone 8 start at $699 for 64GB and just like the regular iPhone 8 will have a 256GB version available for order. Apple is opening up pre-orders Tuesday April 10th on their site and you can snag one from Apple retail stores this Friday the 13th.
For those of you wanting a red iPhone X, you’ll have to wait right now. Apple is releasing a (PRODUCT)RED folio case though for you that do carry the iPhone X. It’s color seems to be a bit on the darker red side.
As usual, a portion of the proceeds will go towards the global fight against HIV. Apple has donated more than $160 thus far through their various (PRODUCT)RED special edition devices and accessories.
